Langley Auxiliary Purchases Bus

The Langley Memorial Hospital Auxiliary (1947-2017) is pleased to present a new bus to the residents of the hospital’s four residential care units.  Auxiliary president Diane Thornton noted that this was the third bus purchased by the Auxiliary in its 70 years of serving the hospital, community, and healthcare:  “The old bus was past its ‘best before’ date and was urgently in need of replacement.  The staff and patients of our residential care facility held a celebration for us with cake and coffee—and it was a beautiful and warm day.”

Penticton Fashion Show Fundraiser

Close to 300 people attended the “Take an Old Bag to Tea” event on Sunday, June 11 — much to the Penticton Hospital Auxiliary’s delight.  Their fifth annual fashion show fundraiser began with Auxiliary president Nancy Leardo surprising Carey Bornn of the SOS Medical Foundation with a $50,000 donation.  The Auxiliary has now raised more than $147,000 towards its incredible $250,000 pledge to the Foundation’s campaign to supply the medical equipment for the PRH expansion now well underway.
The Tea included a raffle draw for a diamond tennis bracelet valued at $8,550.  Belly dancers from Get Bent added to the entertainment, which got many in the crowd joining in.  Thanks to all the volunteer models, including Rachel Mazza (in photo), event organizers and those who turned out for a very entertaining afternoon at the Penticton Lakeside Resort.
