Evening Auxiliary to Royal Inland Hospital
President/ Jenny Quince
Our Constitution states – The purpose is to raise funds to further the improvement of patient care at RIH Kamloops and other health care facilities in the referral area of the said hospital, by providing support for development of the said hospital, equipment acquisition, education, and research.
We have made a 5-year commitment to donate over $850,000 to the new patient tower in addition to our annual purchase of equipment up to $100,000.
Our main source of income is lucrative contracts where we receive a percentage of gross earned – Sacred Grounds coffee shop, TV Rentals, and 8 vending machines within RIH. Major hands-on fundraiser is the Craft Fair held annually in November with over 200 tables rented and 7,000 patrons through the door.
As well as supporting TRU medical students with bursaries and the Out of the Ashes Program, we have also supported Hillside Psychiatric Centre. Fun stuff includes making and filling Christmas stockings for the newborns over Christmas & New Years in the Maternity Wing.
We have a website solely dedicated to the Craft Fair – rihcraftafair.ca.
