Reyhanna Akkurt, a Vernon Jubilee hospital youth volunteer, earns positive feedback for her inspired ‘Helping Hands’ presentation. As part of a School District scholarship program, Akkurt assembled photos, inspirational quotes and volunteer-themed items—including her healthcare uniform and name tag—to draw attention to the personal and societal benefits of volunteering. Cheryl Tomiak, the Auxiliary Youth Program Chairperson, describes Reyhanna as “an exemplary member of our volunteer group.” Tomiak and the Vernon Auxiliary congratulate Reyhanna on her successful project and extend their best wishes as she registers in the Nursing Program at UBC Okanagan.
